Better Business not always Good Business

Filed under: Uncategorized — ziponover @ 3:00 pm

I am starting to see more websites with the logo for BBB on them. I compare them to the stickers that come when you give to the Fraternal Order of Police, two types of people put those stickers on their car, very good people as in police and very questionable, very few between these two categories will put the sticker on their car. The same can be said about the BBB logo.

My wife joined up with the popular schoolmate reuniting site and I guess somewhere buried in the terms was she was going to be signed up for some web protection program. When she got her bill she was shocked to find an extra charge at the same time as she joined, she called the third-party company and they cancelled the service. Problem? only $19.00 but times this by 100,000 members, now it is a million dollar rip-off. The BBB has them as an A+ rating with about 400 complaints where the company addressed the complaint issues but the consumer failed to acknowledge acceptance to BBB. My understanding those are unresolved complaints!

You decide if you feel you need to add the BBB logo to your sight but I say to the consumer, click on the logo and it will bring you to the BBB information on that company.  Once there, screw the rating, see how many complaints the company has had, how many of those were resolved with the customer, then decide if you want to have any dealings with the company, in this way the BBB can be helpful.
