Are we having fun yet? one of the most important things of starting a small business is a joy for what you do, keeping that joy and keeping creativity. The biggest mistake is thinking the joy is the reason and reward of the business. A dear friend does artwork on glass and I always preached to her put your signature on it big, you can give the glass and art away for free but people pay for the signature. Even friends are willing to pay with a signature and sometimes dearly.

Price list:
artwork – Price to create art
artwork signed + 10 dollars
artwork signed by reputable artist + 100 dollars
artwork signed by famous artist + 1,000 dollars
artwork signed by famous creative artist + 10,000 dollars
artwork signed by ceased famous artist + 100,000 dollars
artwork signed by ceased famous creative artist + 1,000,000 dollars

You do not need to kill yourself to make your business a success but you do need to understand how to put value to your service, BRANDING!

Love and hugs, back to work!

Blahs of Blogs, Blogging your business into the ground.

We find our self in the same predicament that most businesses that are encouraged to add a blog to their website, failure to maintain it. Blogs can create great returns to a business but we either take it on our own or get misguided direction, soon to show lack of professionalism and even that the owner is still alive.

Blogs can easily become a negative on your marketing campaign and is very wise to understand how a blog could even be of any importance at all. Most business owners are not expert copyeditors and maintaining a blog may even demand hiring a professional to maintain active content.

First, weigh heavy against on having the blog placed on your website, WordPress and Blogspot are a few that allow you to have an external blog without risking not converting visitors to customers. If you have vast free time and love blogging great put it on your website. Best to use a blog that is external and if the content seems to start growing rust or mold you can remove the link from your website so visitors to the website do not see that the last entry in your blog was 1999.

Second, be careful of the content, write what your customer base would be interested in reading, be careful not to insult, understand your keywords and make sure you use them here and there, If you have the money and the Internet is a useful marketing tool for you, consider hiring a professional.

THIRD, the big money in blogs is not in your own blog but in everyone else’s blogs, YEP! Go to your favorite search engine and type questions about your profession and go to all the blogs and forums you find and comment or reply. Put your two cents in and a link back to your website, even if you can not put a link in you can usually get away with” www.ziponover.com , Local business tools for advertising”. and if the question can be answered on your website you may have a customer. Most of all it is another link that points to your website and most search engines love blogs and forums to help answer questions.

If you thought this post was okay, than comment, else next post will be January 31st 2020.

Better Business not always Good Business

Filed under: Uncategorized — ziponover @ 3:00 pm

I am starting to see more websites with the logo for BBB on them. I compare them to the stickers that come when you give to the Fraternal Order of Police, two types of people put those stickers on their car, very good people as in police and very questionable, very few between these two categories will put the sticker on their car. The same can be said about the BBB logo.

My wife joined up with the popular schoolmate reuniting site and I guess somewhere buried in the terms was she was going to be signed up for some web protection program. When she got her bill she was shocked to find an extra charge at the same time as she joined, she called the third-party company and they cancelled the service. Problem? only $19.00 but times this by 100,000 members, now it is a million dollar rip-off. The BBB has them as an A+ rating with about 400 complaints where the company addressed the complaint issues but the consumer failed to acknowledge acceptance to BBB. My understanding those are unresolved complaints!

You decide if you feel you need to add the BBB logo to your sight but I say to the consumer, click on the logo and it will bring you to the BBB information on that company.  Once there, screw the rating, see how many complaints the company has had, how many of those were resolved with the customer, then decide if you want to have any dealings with the company, in this way the BBB can be helpful.
